The area features a blend of historic tenements, mid-century housing blocks, and sleek new apartment complexes—many with views of the Vistula River. Revitalized sites like Fabryczna City and Browar Lubicz bring together modern living, office spaces, and dining, all while preserving the district’s architectural heritage.
Architecture
Grzegórzki’s architecture reflects its layered history and steady transformation. The district features a mix of 19th-century tenement houses, interwar villas—especially in the elegant Osiedle Oficerskie—and post-war apartment blocks, many of which are now being modernized.
In recent years, Grzegórzki has seen a wave of modern developments, blending contemporary glass-and-steel designs with historic surroundings. Revitalized industrial sites like Browar Lubicz and Fabryczna City showcase thoughtful reuse of historic buildings, turning former factories into stylish residential, office, and leisure spaces.

Grzegórzki offers a surprising amount of green space for a central district. The peaceful Botanic Garden of the Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest in Poland, is a major highlight—ideal for quiet walks among rare plants and historic greenhouses.
Park Strzelecki, located near the train station, provides a tree-shaded spot for relaxation, with benches and walking paths. Along the southern edge, the Vistula River boulevards offer scenic cycling and walking routes, popular for their river views and connection to other districts.
Scattered pocket parks and green courtyards throughout Grzegórzki add to its livability, making it one of Kraków’s greener inner-city neighborhoods.
Transport
Grzegórzki enjoys excellent connectivity within Kraków. Major tram and bus lines run through stops like Rondo Grzegórzeckie, offering fast links to the Old Town, Kazimierz, and other districts. The newly refurbished Grzegórzki train station adds regional rail access, including direct routes to Kraków Airport and Wieliczka.
The district is also walkable and bike-friendly, with growing cycling paths and easy access to the scenic Vistula river boulevards. Taxis and ride-hailing apps are widely available, and car access is convenient, though traffic can peak at busy times.

Resident's view
Living in Grzegórzki’s the best – close enough to the Old Town for all the action, but still chill and green when you want to relax. Getting around is super easy – trams, buses, or with the new train station, getting in and out town is a breeze.
There’s always something nearby – a cozy café for that morning coffee, a market for fresh veggies, or the Botanic Garden when I need to chill and wind down for a bit. The river paths are perfect for a bike ride or evening stroll.
What I really love is the vibe – neighbours are cool, local shops are super unique, and there’s always something fun happening around. It’s a spot that’s changing but still feels like home.
